Front End Development. Created several different templates. Strategically planned naming conventions for a user friendly CMS. Worked closely with backend programmer in Mura.
My first time using Mura as a CMS. Worked closely with senior programmer. I was in charge of front end development and creating templates and content holders making sure content can be repeated seamlessly on different parts of the page.
This is a great example in which I wasn't included early on in the planning process. So the design got approved by client before it was handed off to me. The layout was quite difficult being that it had jaggedy edges, but I was able to make it work. Here I took the comps and prepared the template and handed it off to the senior programmer to implement into his CMS that he built himself called FIMS
At this time, our senior programmer left so I was the only one. This was my first project using business catalyst as a CMS. The layout was given to PSD2HTML as a starting point but there was a lot of fixing to make it work with the CMS.
The current site now is phase 2 of the site. I did the front end developemnt wile working closely with the senior programmer. I was also the one who created the flash piece that displayed the different type of drinks that McCafe has to offer.
Took designers comps and sliced it up and created the main template. I inputted all the content and used jQuery to create sliding image galleries. We were on a really tight deadline to get this launced by the end of the year. Everyone in our company was on holiday break but we were working more than 12 hour days sometimes. I worked closely with a freelance programmer in the mainland who helped impelemnt this site to be a parallax site.
The first time my family got access to the Internet, I was introduced to IRC. I had fun chatting with other people and it blew my mind that I can communicate with other people in different parts of the world. Then there was Asian Avenue and Myspace which allowed you to “customize” your pages. I wanted to make my page pretty so I wanted to learn how to do just that! From the very first time I was able to post a picture to a webpage, till now, I love being able to make websites!
I graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Interactive Media Design from the Art Institute of California – Los Angeles in 2005 with a 3.9 GPA. I was a major dork and I would spend many nights in the computer labs because I wanted good grades. Shortly after, I got hired by Apollo Interactive as a junior web producer. Unfortunately, in 2007, my dad passed away and I decide to make some sacrifices. I left the mainland and moved back home. I now work at MVNP. I started working there on June 18, 2007 which means I have been working there for the past 6 years.
I recently have been introduced to the world of responsive web design. This online portfolio of mine is my very first responsive website and I was pretty exciting to see it do what I want it to do. I can think of so many more ways to imporve it, but here is what I have so far. I am always willing to learn new things and this is just one of those things. Technology is always changing and I am constantly learning. Definitely, never boring!
